CONTRIBUTIONS
MUSICA TOSCANA INC. since its foundation
has operated on local, private donations, with the exception of a few small gifts from
scholars and interested persons outside of our area, plus the income from the sale of its
publications. While we hope that in time the last resource will make the work of the
society self-sufficient, we will be dependent upon gifts for a few years into the future.
It is not financially related to nor receives funding from the University of Louisville.
Applications for funding from governmental entities have not been successful largely
because MTI intends to become commercially self-sustaining. We therefore appeal to private
individuals for gifts (tax deductible) to help us expand our work to the point that we can
expect sales to support our ambitious schedule of publications and concerts, and thus to
restore the history and the music of Tuscany to its rightful place in the general history
and appreciation of music.
Thus, as a nonprofit educational
organization dependent largely upon donations and membership dues, we must appeal to all
interested in the advancement of Tuscan music for contributions. We have two principal
programs to attract donations. The first is simple and obvious: a gift of $50.00 (or more)
to Musica Toscana, Inc., for any of its basic objectives. The second is a contribution
towards a specific undertaking:
|
1. publication of music;
2. grant program for scholars who wish to prepare editions of music;
3. performance of music; and
4. recordings of our music programs and the free distribution of the recordings to
reviewers, classical music radio stations, and potential performers. |
We also offer a third
possibility of becoming a sponsor of a volume in our series, Monuments of Tuscan
Music, which will be recognized on the reverse side of the title page. For
$1,500-2,999, the donor will be entitled to share sponsorship with one or two other
donors. For $3,000 (or more), the donor will be honored by a sole sponsorship. Any of
these sponsorships may by made a memorial as desired by the donor. All of these donations
will be deductible on income tax forms and they all constitute a years membership in
MTI.
Donations may be sent by personal check or
other devices directly to:
